We hold meetings every Thursday from 6:45 am to 8 am PST. The first Thursday of the month we have hybrid meetings, with optional in-person attendance at Standards Insurance Building in Portland. Every other meeting is remote (Zoom link).
In other words, our club meets mostly over Zoom while offering a chance to meet in person once a month.
During a typical Toastmasters meeting, members gather to practice public speaking and leadership skills through a structured agenda that includes prepared speeches, impromptu speaking exercises, and constructive evaluations.
Your initial application and first 6 months of membership costs $85. For every 6 months after that, the cost is $60.
All in all, membership in Sunrise Toastmasters costs about $10 a month, less than most Netflix subscriptions. We think it’s a bargain.
Sure, it is a simple three step process to apply:
- Submit your membership application to Heather R., our VP of Membership (let us know if you have any questions!)
- Send our Treasurer Marili $85; we accept money orders, checks, Venmo, and more.
- You’re all set! If you haven’t presented already, we look forward to your icebreaker, a 5-7 minute speech in which you introduce yourself to the club.
Great question! No experience required. Sunrise Toastmasters supports everyone from those just starting out, to experienced speakers. Either way, we are here to support your growth!
Toastmasters provides a wealth of educational resources to help members improve their communication and leadership skills, including a comprehensive curriculum of self-paced learning programs, a variety of training materials and workshops, and online resources such as webinars, podcasts, and e-learning courses. Additionally, members can access a global network of experienced mentors who provide guidance and support throughout their Toastmasters journey.
